A red idea,
Calm Down Papi is a design and decorative arts studio that merges traditional craft techniques—such as embroidery, ceramics, metalwork, and candle-making—with a contemporary art aesthetic.
Across all its practices, red functions as a unifying language: a material, a symbol, and a visual system that connects objects, gestures, and narratives.
The studio’s vision is to build a distinct creative universe—one where red replaces black as the dominant visual code. Through this shift, Calm Down Papi proposes a subtle but radical transformation: a butterfly effect where color becomes a tool to reframe perception, emotion, and social and environmental values framework.
La vie en rouge.
Meet the Founder,
Nu is an artist who learned to see the world through threads. Born in Colombia and now based in Europe, her practice moves between embroidery, objects, and gestures of repair, where making becomes a way of understanding and transforming reality. With a background in science, she approaches materials as living systems—sensitive, reactive, and deeply connected to the body. Through Calm Down Papi, she creates a universe where red is not only a color, but a pulse: a way of holding together what is fragile, intimate, and in constant transformation.
